Outline of Activities

Since Sep 8, 1999, “Nepal Baseball Club Laligurans” started its activiy and it is promoting baseball in Nepal where baseball is not known well. Our philosophy for activities is "Cooperation". Through baseball, we are proceeding the international exchanges which is not an one-way support but can learn and grow up each other. The main activities are as follows.

The purpose of this organization is the international exchange through baseball, and we don't aim to develop professional players or participate in the international tournaments.

Additionally, we are aiming to contribute to human development by sports including baseball. In the schools of Nepal, there are no class of sports, and there is no customs that common people do sports usually. In this situation, we hope to contribute to the health and building better society of Nepal by increasing the chance for people in Nepal to touch sports.

Introduction

Start of Activities

In 1999, the overseas study tour of the university triggered this activity. At that time, in Nepal, baseball is not known at all. So we started from explaining “This is the ball”. Since then, we are proceeding the activities of promoting baseball, aiming for the exchanging between Nepal and Japan, with having the dream - Olympic Games.

After the activities for a long time, in the recent, such as establishment of Nepal Baseball Federation, participation in the international tournaments, the birth of first Nepali professional player, baseball in Nepal is showing the developments. On the other hand, former children have grown up and coaching baseball to the children now. However, there are only rough grounds in Nepal is the problem.
